Join in this virtual presentation as Dr. Murray Watson returns to St. John’s and shares interpretations and historical commentary from a Jewish and Christian perspective on the near sacrifice of Isaac recorded in Genesis 22, with a quick
dip into Islam’s take on this story.

Dr. Murray Watson returns with a follow up to his June 9 presentation and shares Christian and Jewish interpretations and historical commentary on the story of the near sacrifice of Isaac in Genesis 22. 
He will also take a quick dip in Islam’s take on the story.

Murray Watson is a Catholic Biblical Scholar who has studied in Rome, Jerusalem and Dublin, and has worked for many years in the fields of ecumenism and interfaith dialogue. He currently serves as the Adult Faith Formation Animator for the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, based in Barrie. This event marks Murray’s sixth “visit” to St.John’s, Smiths Falls since 2018.
