Acknowledgment of Traditional Territory
New and corrected information came to light in recent weeks that St. John‟s, Smiths
Falls sits on the traditional territory of the Algonquin Peoples, and not, as earlier
understood on territory covered by the Upper Canada Treaties. This has been corrected
on our bulletins.

Vestry Reports
Vestry Reports are due in the Parish Office by Jan 31.

Boiler Replacement
Further to the announcement last Sunday, St. John‟s Parish Council approved a motion
to contract McNamee Plumbing & Heating to replace the church‟s boilers at a cost of
$28, 421.00 + HST. While expenditures greater than $30,000 would normally require
Vestry approval, the urgent nature of the replacement, in light of the system‟s failure
and repair costs, was paramount and so the decision was made to proceed immediately.
The new boilers were installed this past week. If you have any questions, please feel
free to speak with Canon Catherine, the Wardens, Bob Theoret or a member of Parish

Parish Directory
The team is working hard and the St John's on-line church directory is being developed.

directory, please notify Laura ([email protected]). If you would like your photo
taken, please approach Laura Porter, Dan Willis, or Terry Dillabough. Please direct
questions about the directory to Dan Willis at [email protected]
